I love to Pin

A FEW OF MY BOARDS

I found Pinterest several years ago and I was hooked.  I love to cook so this was a great place to put the recipes I found and then be able to organize them in a easy way.  I then started to branch out to other boards and one of them was named School & Technology.  I was surprised at first to find some really good things for school but after others found the same things the pins started to come fast & furious and they were great resources.  Until this summer tech challenge I have had just one board.  Now I have boards for all the pins I want to follow in education and I will have to start working on the original board to move those pins to the right area :)  Pinning can be very time consuming  and I could spend hours searching and looking at different pins.  The problem is it is not always educational and I get sucked into other things.  My husband still gives me a bad time when he has a problem to solve (clogged drains for example) and he will ask if I have "pinned" something to solve this and of course I have or can look for it.  I have caught him looking at my boards for recipes also :)  Pinterest has been great for education or my daily life!

  1. Just one board?! How could you find anything?

I am amazed at what people find to add to Pinterest. I think some of these people must just spend their life on the Internet--kinda like me and Twitter I suppose.

Love that your husband asks you if you've pinned something!

  3. At first, I thought Pinterest was for recipes, home decor ideas, and crafts based on what my friends pinned. I only had one board as well. I was excited to find that it was usable for educational ideas as well and easy to organize. I agree that it can be very time-consuming, but all social media seems to be easy to get lost in. I do think Pinterest is one of the more valuable ways to spend my time, though, since I have found such great educational things that I can now easily find when I want them.

  4. Pinterest is like crack (look I used a simile!). At least I think it is because I have never tried crack. I am addicted to Pinterest. It makes me happy and it doesn't judge me. Pinterest saves me from clutter. I don't have to print out every worksheet or idea and file it away somewhere. Typically if I have filed it, then I have forgotten it. I really don't like a lot of papers, etc. in my classroom. I like it clean. I have enough mental baggage that I don't need the physical baggage!

  5. I have a Pinterest also and it is mostly filled with recipes. The latest being a mulberry one (it was pretty good by the way). I also have several Science ones saved, but haven't really shared with others much. I find I can spend a lot of time pinning also. It is addicting for me as well. In fact I resisted for a while, since I was afraid it would be all I would get done! My lunch buddies talked me into taking the plunge.

  6. I started out with only one board as well, and it was filled with mostly recipes. Pretty soon I had a jumbled mess, so I've created many more boards now and will need to find some time to move things to the correct board! So many good ideas out there, and I love looking through them all!
